The City of Aiken has received the Municipal Association of South Carolina (MASC) 2022 Achievement Award in the “Public Works” category for the innovative Hitchcock Woods Stormwater Project.
“It is an honor to be recognized by the Municipal Association for this first-of-a-kind project in South Carolina. This award epitomizes the collaborative spirit in our community as this shared solution will benefit the City and the Hitchcock Woods Foundation for years to come,” remarked City of Aiken Mayor Rick Osbon.
MASC instituted the platform in 1987 to provide local government officials and employees the opportunity to receive deserved recognition for outstanding and visionary efforts in local government and encourages innovations and excellence in local government through its Achievement Awards.
The City of Aiken has a rich history of innovative, successful, and sustained projects that have prevailed MASC Achievement Awards throughout the years. From 1990 through 2011, the City received 19 MASC Achievement Awards in various categories.
Recipients will be honored at the MASC Annual Meeting scheduled for July 2022.
